  1. Frog- A frog can be recognized by its two swelled or bulgy eyes. Such bulb-shaped eyes help the frog keep a watch all over the surrounding areas at the same time and save its life from foe. Though a frog does not cause any harm to the human beings, it has a variety of defensive strategies to apply whenever fallen in trap of danger. The frog manages to flee by leaping forward from the spot to save its life. A frog has a unique quality to defend itself, if caught by hand, by slipping through its slippery greasy skin and urinating over its foe as well. All the frogs prefer to live at such a place which should have plenty of water or moisture. A frog happens to adapt itself according to its need coming out from deep water onto a dried land and vice versa.

Frog’s two long hinder legs push its body forward with a great jerk and help it cover a long distance, posing in this way a challenge to its foe to give it a chase and catch it. The frogs found all over the world, except Antarctic region, can be seen in a large number, during the rainy season on surface of ground and water. All frogs go deep into the ground with the departure of rain.

There are a few recognized species of frogs found in the world such as bull frog, common frog, green frog, leopard frog, marsh frog, pickerel frog and wood frog.

  2. Toad- The toad happens to have a rough lump dry-skin and unlike the frogs is found only over the dry places and dried branches of trees. Unlike the frogs the toad drills a hole to live at dried places. Burrowing efficiently the holes, a toad hides and resides safely.

Toad is found all over the world, except Australasia, polar regions, Madagascar, and Polynesia. There are different members of leathery-skinned toad such as  Bombinatoridae, Discoglossidae, Pelobatidae, Rhinophrynidae, Scaphiopodidae and Microhylidae.
