White Spots On Tongue

The white spots on tongue can be recognized as the taste bud to have got swollen and turned into white, causing severe pain all over the tongue. People affected from such white spots over their tongue suffer from an irritation, pain and a burning sensation on consuming spicy and salty foods. Citric edible items also cause an inflammation and pain over the tongue, bearing white spots.

The white spots on tongue can be compared with a thrush which occurs among both children and adults equally. Thrush is a yeast infection(aka Candida) looking like whites spots or white patches occurring over the tongue of affected ones. The white spots may occur at any random time. Once they occur, their remaining in existence for seven to days cant be ruled.

The small particles of foods present inside our mouth cause an infection, called yeast infection as well,  by encouraging innumerable invisible bacterias thereof. Such yeast infection in turn develops white spots or patches all-over the tongue, causing as a result, an irritation and severe pain all over the mouth, specially on tongue. The tongue either on getting burnt by consuming something too hot or being mistakenly bitten also cause a burning sensation, resulting into white spots on tongue. People affected from such infection should clean their mouth regularly by gargling with an effective antiseptic liquid and scrap their tongue as well. By keeping the mouth clean people can easily get rid of white spots and pain affecting their tongue at large.

Besides, the white spots over the tongue occur due to certain medicines as well like antibiotics or corticosteroids. Emerging as white spots on tongue, the yeast infection mostly affects the patients of diabetes and HIV as well whose body’s healing power or immunity is found to have fallen at its lowest level.

The affected one should immediately consult a doctor to treat the problem of white spots on his or her tongue. In order to treat the white spots on the tongue or yeast infection, the doctors will go in-depth of exact reason of white spots appearing over the tongue and may inquire about several stages which the respective patient should have passed through recently.

Basically the foods consumed and constipation are the two major factors contributing in a outbreak of white spots, causing inflammation and severe pain always over the tongue and sometimes over entire mouth.
Though it is up to an efficient doctor to decide which medicine to be prescribed to help the patient get rid of his/her white spots of tongue, lozenge and anti-fungal pills are the most common ones to be administered to reduce the existing pain of white spots on tongue.

Fatigue, stress and anxiety also are the main causes of yeast infection or white spots on tongue, making the individual experience inflammation or burning sensation. Some of the common symptoms, substantiating the outbreak of yeast infection in a form of white spots on tongue are as follows-

  • Tongue swelling.
  • Changed color of tongue into beefy one.
  • Sore or Inflammation over the tongue.
  • Inability in chewing, eating and swallowing.
  • Difficulty in speaking or conversing.

There is nothing in your report about tongue sores (white) being caused by chemotheraphy treatment, and radiation of the throat. Be nice to know what others have experienced and what they have taken to relieve pain.

i had surgery done on my tongue to remove a white swollen lump, my dentist said it could have been caused by it being bitten and then swelling up. i Had local anasthetic injections in my tongue and they nipped off the lump and put stitches into my tongue. Although the doctor said that the lump was harmless and wasnt anything serious i still chose to have it removed. I currently have stitches in my tongue and was wandering if anyone knows how long it will take for them to heal?
