- As relentless vomiting by a child is likely to cause scarcity of liquid in her body, avoid dehydration by giving the child electrolyte solution with the gap of each 20 to 25 minutes of time. Beware of not giving water to child, unless permitted by doctor.
- Most probably a child, vomiting excessively, is likely to refuse to have electrolyte solution any more. Hence, make sure that the solution be tasty and balanced in required salt and sugar. It’d better for you to buy a flavored solution from the market, as home made lemon, sugar and salt based solution is most probably not to be consumed by your child.
- Do not force your vomiting child to consume more the electrolyte solution, as it can exacerbate her vomiting complication beyond control.
- Increase the quantity of electrolyte solution, keeping in view the capacity of child to consume without vomiting any more.
- On noticing no any vomit in child for 7 to 8 hours of time, you should provide your child with normal breast feeding or offer foods such as cereals, but light in quantity.
- What you should not take lightly is “No improvement even after 8 hours”. Consult the doctor immediately in such condition.
