How to prevent lip piercing infections

It is the good aftercare of the lips that has got to make the problem of lip infection a farfetched problem.

• Forget to consume anything for three hours just after lip piercing. If you are addict of drugs, alcohol or smoking then make sure that you keep yourself free from them on the day lip piercing is set to be expedited.
• Do not touch your lip piercing with unwashed finger as the chances of bacterial onslaught remain high that has got to cause infection.
• Wash the lip piercing site with saline water two to three times a day.
• Brush your teeth three to four times a day ensuring good oral health. Residues of food particles can activate bacteria and cause thereby lips infection.
• Brush your teeth with soft bristle brush every time you take your meal.
• Do not trigger an idea of going for oral sex or kissing as it can worsen the injuries of your tongue.
• You can take antibacterial medicine if immunity of your body is weak.   
• If the pain of your lips undergoing piercing does not seem to subside you should have ibuprofen. 
• Do not share foods on a same plate even with your partner.
• Have Vitamin B and Zinc enriched foods that will heal the wounds faster.
• Avoid taking bath under shower and swimming in the water pool.
• Keep the jewelry worn on lips clean and sterilized.
