NO BLEACH! It is absolutely incorrect to tell people to apply bleach to your skin! Bleach causes rashes and chemical burns! I know this first hand from a diluted 1:4 ratio of bleach to water while cleaning wood, and had to go to the emergency room for a burning rash that is being treated with steroids. I hadn’t even realized it had gotten on my arms. It is not worth it.

It is common knowledge that bleach causes itchy, painful rashes and whether or not it cures others is not the point. Do not exacerbate your current rash or cause a new one by using bleach.

Get over yourselves..seriously because a person asked doesnt mean they don’t know. Anyways just apply hydrocortizone cream and then take a benadryl for the itching. Wash delicately in the shower but enough to clean the area. Should go away in a few days.

Come on people. The hypochlorite in bleach is also used in disinfecting swimming pools. Just make sure it’s dilute enough and you will be fine. Are you saying that no one has ever got bleach on their hands when washing cloths?

I don’t know what to do I am allergic to the PPD in hair dye, I thought I had bought an old bottle at a inexpensive store and just got a bad batch which kept an on going extremely itchy rach all over my body for 6 months, then it finally went away. I decided to go professional to dye my hair, I did, the next day my head and rash disbursed all over my body and leaving awful scars. I can’t stand the itch. I have been to the hospital for 8 times all together . I can’t stand it, help. I can’t dye my hair ever again and I am 49 years old. I tried 4 different creams, pednasone (steroid) sorry can’t spell it correctly. It’s getting worse. Apple cider vinegar I tried, baking soda, and omg so much more. I need to stop the rash and itch, I am covered. someone please help….

Bleach is very bad idea….. I discovered almost a year ago now, that I am allergic to the Depo shot (birth control) and I had a really bad rash on the arm that I got it in, very similar to poison oak, which I am also very highly allergic to…. It has started to go away, in fact it is almost gone, but it’s not fully gone, and i just want it to go away and to have a normal arm again…. And, I have something similar on my hand… I’m gonna try the olive oil, I hope that works….

  23. ChoozLuv says:

Aloe “The Ancient Egyptian Medicine Plant” has always been the most soothing and most effective natural remedy for most rashes.

This is straight out of my Aloe Vera Handbook…

“For centuries Aloe Vera and its medicinal cousins have been used extensively in many cultures because of their apparently magical effectiveness for treating burns, healing wounds and relieving aches, pains, loss of hair, stomach disorders, constipation, hemorrhoids, mouth and gum disease, blistering, sunburn, blemishes.” But mainly, for the topic at hand “It reduces scaling and itching”!!! It’s excellent for skin care!

Aloa Vera is known for healing, softening and moisturizing the skin. I used it on a severe burn I got on my hand from carmelizing sugar and it numbed the pain almost instantly. Everytime I took it off – it would start to burn immediately! I had to sleep with the Aloe Leaf wrapped onto the burn with tape to stop the tears from coming out my eyes. I kid you not – no burning AT ALL so long as the Aloe Leaf was on it.

I want to thank you for mentioning Aloe because not only do I have a whole bunch of them growing wild on my property but I have a crazy rash that’s taking over most parts of my body and for the life of me … I didn’t think of my Aloe Plants! LOL Now THAT’S STUPID!

But as soon as I read it I ran outside and cut a leaf and smeared it all over myself in the middle of writing this! :)

Aaaaaaaaah! A true relief. Better than what the Benedryl was doing for me!

    Thanks!
