Fruit flies, also known as drosophila can be seen hovering over the fresh fruits such as mangoes, grapes, bananas and variety of other juicy fruits. Fond of sweet taste, the fruit flies are found hovering in and around fresh the juice corners, where the juices of variety of fresh fruits are taken out and served afresh to the people.

• One of the most effective steps to be taken in order to get rid of fruit flies is the prevention. By preventing the fruits from being placed in open has got to help you get rid of fruit flies to a great extent. So keep all kinds of fruits, specially the ripened ones under cover.
• Do not give your children juicy fruits such as mangoes to eat using their hands. If the mango is the pulpy hard, serve it on a plate only after cutting it into smaller pieces. Let the children eat them through fork or spoon, without using their finger.

  If mangos are juicy, squeeze out their juice through electric juicer and offer it as the mango squash to your family members. You can apply different types of self devised methods while serving different fruits in order to prevent fruit flies from hovering around when consuming the ripened fruits.

• Dispose of waste parts of fruits including their peels, seeds and pulp without throwing them off in open. Rather dumping and draining all the left over parts of consumed fruits are the most effective ways of getting rid of fruit flies. If you efficiently manage to dispose of left over fruits, you will manage to get rid of buzzing fruit flies as well, contrary to your common notion.
• Though you may develop an idea in your mind regarding the fruit flies as swarming only over the fruits and decaying fruits, you cant imagine them to have grown or infested in filth. The fruit flies automatically get developed over human waste, garbage and decaying foods. Their emergence is found in unsanitary conditions, prevalent in public toilets and open septic tanks.

  No doubt prevention of fruit flies is more effective way of getting rid of their emergence rather than fighting with them afterwards. Make sure that septic tank of your latrine should not have any hole, permitting the air to pass through. Clean your toilet regularly. 

• Do not keep a cup of tea, juice or drink unwashed as it has got to develop fruit flies soon, if remained unattended for several days. Wash all the utensils immediately without letting it be reused.
• Clean the stove or oven just after preparing any sweet item over it. Even a little quantity of sweet product remaining left there is enough to invite fruit flies and cause its buzzing terror in your entire house.

• Take a shallow dish and prepare a mixture of mineral oil and smashed banana. Such preparation will attract the fruit flies and after trapping them in its viscous material will kill them, contrary to their imagination. You will get rid of fruit flies very efficiently by such method.
• Another effective way of getting rid of fruit flies is a pop bottle containing apple juice and dish soap. By this method also the fruit flies will get trapped and die after some time.
