When a person is addicted to something the state of mind changes from time to time. By addiction I mean addicted to any bad habit, An addicted mind knows what’s wrong and what not but still person tends to repeat the same habits again and again, Sometimes we can question why is it so? but there are some reasons behind this repeated habit to do wrong. Reason is in our mind, mind tricks an addicted person and convince him/her to repeat what should not be done. Few things what addicted person’s mind convince him to do are as follows:

• Addicted mind tells we are cured and have the stamina to control the quantity of alcohol we consume or drugs we consume. Mind lies to put you into more worse condition then you are into.
• Idea of taking just one more, all starts with this idea and ends with usually same or worse results. Mind says just one and we are done, but this, one time take us to never ending journey of our addictions. This is a lie, plain, simple and every addict secretly know it in their hearts.
• Our mind or rather call addicted mind shows us only the fun and good times we had due to our habits but block the misery that comes along with that happiness. We only try to remember the good times. Addiction of anything, whether drugs or alcohol never go easily, mind plays various tricks for its survival and hence, lie us in many ways.
• My addiction wants me to get isolated with everyone, my family, my friends or any person who is close to me as an isolated person can easily come into the claws of addicted mind. Their are chances of recovery only when we have connections with others.
• Addicted mind makes you feel sorry and present you as an victim so it becomes easier to justify a drink or a drug.

But,if a person is determined to quit alcohol or drugs, he/she can easily do this with an positive attitude towards life. We don’t have to get down and pretend whole world is against us but feel they are with us. If we have the mind set and will to quit we will one day come out of addiction as its said “Where there is a will, there is a way”.
