Having been a craze among the young people till a few years ago, the straight barbell seems to have become an antediluvian trend now paving the way for spiral jewelries to be worn only after undergoing industrial piercings. Craze for helix piercing was seen only in 1992 when it got a fame through a magazine in the USA. But in the modern era the helix ear piercing is preferred only with vertical piercings, and the inner/out conch piercings that are the most sought-after industrial piercings in the USA.
How the industrial piercing is expedited?
The industrial or scaffold ear piercing is the exceptional ear piercing as it occupies two sites of the ear through here’s cartilage piercings to put on a long barbell available in different sizes, shapes and designs such as spiral barbell, long barbell and the twisted barbell. A long straight steel barbell is pierced through the cartilage of the ear from behind the ear and is taken to the upper portion of ear where it is screwed with a ball-like bed. Such type of industrial or scaffold ear piercing is called helix piercing, much popular in America. Diagonally put on long jewelry is the result of industrial or scaffold ear piercing which nowadays is catching on all over world as a neoteric trend.
A well sterilized hollow needle, made of surgical steel, is pressed into service to create two perforations over the ear piercing through the ear-cartilage to put on barbell jewelry on the ear. Just after expediting the piercing on ear-cartilage a long steel barbell is put on the ear. Although a preferred jewelry can be worn by the individuals, the professional piercers advise them to wear only captive bead rings (CBRs) and let it remain over their cartilage of the ear unless the ear piercings are healed completely.Only after complete recovery of the ear piercings is a barbell jewelry allowed to be worn by the individual. But sometimes, despite being conspicuous for the faster healing of piercing wounds, the CBR’s alignment becomes a little difficult forcing the individuals to reconsider its usage. It is the only reason that the professional industrial piercers insert rather a flexible plastic into the pierced perforations of the ear cartilage when expediting industrial piercing and just after the healing of the ear-piercings do allow a metal bar of the preferred size and shape to be worn by the individuals. As a long straight barbell is put on the cartilage of ear, the individuals are needed to take aftercare of their pierced ears as any mistreating, lack of sanitation, or carelessness can trigger problem of infections on the their industrial ear piercings.
